Rows

Three tips for a grid that holds together

  • Pick a simple picture

Bold shapes and colour survive being cut into tiles; fine detail gets lost at grid size.

  • Keep faces off the lines

Move the picture so no face or word sits where two tiles meet.

  • Post the set in one go

Anything posted in between shifts every tile along. Schedule the whole set a minute apart.

Questions

Instagram’s profile grid shows a tall 3:4 window of each post, but its publishing tools take feed images from 4:5 to 1.91:1. So each post is 4:5, and the picture lines up in the middle 3:4 part the grid shows.

In number order, starting with 1. Instagram puts the newest post at the top left, so post 1 is the bottom-right tile and the last post completes the top row.

Every post in between shifts the grid along by one, so post the whole set together. Smartplannr can schedule them a minute apart.
