Before you start
You need an X account. X charges apps for each post they publish through its API, so how your post reaches X depends on your plan.
- On Pro and Max, X posts publish automatically: up to 150 a month on Pro and 400 on Max.
- On Starter and Plus, or once the month’s allowance is used, Smartplannr has the post ready at the time you set, and you share it on X in one click.
- Posts with a link are always shared that way, on every plan, because X charges far more to publish a link.
How to schedule a post on X
- Connect XIn Smartplannr, open Settings, then Social Accounts, and sign in with X. On Starter and Plus you can skip this.
- Write the postUp to 280 characters. Smartplannr counts the way X does: every link is 23 characters, and emoji count as two.
- Schedule itPick a date and time, or the next posting slot.
- Publish or shareOn Pro and Max it goes out on its own. Otherwise, open the ready-made post when it’s due and choose Post on X.
What Smartplannr can’t schedule on X yet
- Photos and videos.
- Threads of several posts, replies, quotes and polls.
Writing for X
A post on X is read in a second. Put the point in the first line, cut the rest to what earns its place, and don’t copy a long caption from Instagram: tailor the X version so it stands on its own.
